Biography

  • Anna Margaretha GERLACH, daughter of John Henrich Gerlach, born 1661 (s/o Johann Gerlach b. 1622 and Anna Hartmann b. 1622) and Maria Klink b. 8 Feb 1664 d. 29 Apr 1736 (d/o Reitz and Katherina Klink)
Christened: 23 November 1687, Germany

Birth date is from her Baptism date of 23 NOV 1687 from SARS Records.

1. Ludwig Knauss (i) and his wife, Anna Margaretha, a born Gorloch, farmer in Tittelsheim in Wetteravia, of the Re- formed Church, had [at least] four children, as follows:

  • Johannes Heinrich (2), born in Tittelsheim, 15 January 1712; died, 6 June 1761, at Emaus, Pennsylvania.
  • Sebastian Heinrich (2), born in Tittelsheim, 6 October 1714; died, 26 February 1777, at Emaus, Pennsylvania.
  • Maria Catherine (2), born 16 February 1734, in Whitemarsh Township, near Germantown, Pennsylvania. At the age of seven she came to live with her brother Johannes, at Emaus, Pennsylvania., and later married Andreas Giering. He was born 19 August 1722, and died 20 March 1803.
  • Sophia (2), born 28 November 1737, in Whitemarsh Township, near Germantown, Pennsylvania.; died, April 2, 1815. In 1756 she was married to Ludwig Andreas, who was born 29 September 1734, in Makuntchie (Macungie), and died 9 1813, She followed Reformed religion, but presumably joined the Moravian Church in 1761, and her spouse joined in 1762. Stone number 159 in the old Moravian cemetery, Emaus, Pennsylvania marks her grave.

DOD is evidently too early -- I added Sophia (b. 1737) as her daughter, and Family Search says Anna died in 1740.

Gerlach-639 and Gerlach-26 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate the details from Gerlach-26 should be used the other make the children born before the parents!
