Biography
Son of James Monroe Carlton and Mary Carlton.
Married Ruth Goodnight.
After they married, the moved to Virginia where Monroe, with a degree in agriculture, managed Mirador estate in Greenwood. He died there (in University Hospital at Charlottesville) from an overturned farm tractor. He was only 41.
