Birth location: Berkeley County, Virginia (later became West Virginia).
Ann, nicknamed Nancy, was the daughter of Rev. John Garard and his second wife Mary. They had 3 children, Nancy, Phoebe and William, who were all named in Rev. John's Will.[1]
She married John Newland in Shelby, KY, on 9 Jul 1812.[2] John died on 24 Dec 1817 in Shelby County, KY and Nancy later moved to Ralls Co., MO, where she died on 8 Jul 1863.
In 1850, Nancy was living in the household of her son, Wm Newland.[3]
In 1860, she was living in the household of her son, Jacob Newland. [4]
Her mother and her siblings, Phoebe and William also lived out their lives in Ralls Co. All are buried in Big Creek Cemetery, Rensselaer, Ralls County, Missouri. [5]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nancy by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nancy:
I propose that this record be deleted. The above referenced daughter, Nancy (Gerrard-125), is incorrect. Rev. John Gerrard andhis 2nd wife Mary did have a daughter named Nancy who is correctly shown as Gerrard-243. Additionally, there were no Gerrards in Greene Co, PA in 1753. They went to PA with Capt. Jacob Van Meter after 1768. Additionally, Greene County was not formed until 1796. At that time, the area where the Garards settled (i,e, Garard's Fort) was still part of Bedford County.
Ann Nancy (Gerard-114) and Nancy (Gerrard-243) are the same person. Rev. John had 3 children by his 2nd wife (Nancy, Phoebe, Wm) and are named in his Will.
I believe "Ann Nancy" and "Nancy" are the same person. She married John Newland in Shelby, KY, in 1812, later moved to Ralls Co., MO, where she died. (Her sister Phoebe and brother William also lived out their lives in Ralls Co.
