Joseph Gerrard was born in Dorset, England.

Joseph was born in 1840 and was christened on 01 March 1840 in Halstock, Dorset, England. He was the son of Joseph Gerrard and Sarah Newman.

In the 1841 census of England and Wales Joseph is living with his parents in a larger household in Halstock. [1]

There is no information which can be definitively attached to Joseph after the 1841 census. He was not with the family for the 1851 or 1861 censuses. It is likely he did not survive that long.
