Harmen Gerrits de Jong was born on the 1st of October 1803 in Oosterlittens.[1] His parents were Gerrit Piers de Jong and Aafke Harmens van der Plaats.[2]
Harmen married Angenietje Wytses Houtsma on the 22nd of May 1824 in Baarderadeel.[2] They had nine known children.
In 1828 Gerrit was listed in the purchase of a property.[19] It was a house with a yard and a bleaching field.[19] In 1832 Gerrit was listed as a merchant that lived in Baard.
Gerrit died on the 5th of May 1867 at the age of sixty-three.[20]
