Biography

Children: Claesgen (1560), Trijn (1565). There may have been others; we know of these two through connections.

Adriaen is mentioned only once - in the church membership list. He and his wife Trijn Hessels joined the Enkhuizen Reformed Churches on May 1 1573, less than a year after they were established.

While we have no actual document connecting Adriaen and Trijn with Claesgen and Trijn, the following pieces of information make it very likely. 1. Adriaen and Trijn lived in the Molenpad, where Trijn's daughter Alijt Doedes lived. 2. This was the only man named Adriaen on the church membership list, and if the children joined the church it's likely the parents had too. 3. Both Claesgen and Trijn baptized daughters named Trijn, presumably after their mother.
