John "Leland" Gertsch, age 60, popular employee of the Olney Post Office and a resident of 1017 E. Laurel Street, passed away unexpectedly last evening, December 8, 1975 at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Gertsch was a lifelong resident of Richland County and was the son of John Gertsch and Marie Dummermuth Gertsch. He was married to Erma Roby on July 20, 1935.

He was a long-time member of St. Paul's Church. He was also a member of the Olney Lodge #926 BPOE. His service to the Postal System covered a period of 27 years.

He leaves his wife, Erma; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Carolyn) Aldridge of Claremont; and two foster sisters who were raised in the home of his parents, Mrs. Opal Holtz and Mrs. Fern Bowen, both of Olney.

He has been preceded in death by his parents and a son, John Vernon Gertsch.
