Dorothy E. Winick, 81, of Fort Collins, died May 19, 2014 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mrs. Winick was born February 7, 1933 in Sugar City, Colorado to George and Marie Gesick. Dorothy married Kenneth J. Winick on May 28, 1951 in Greeley, Colorado. Kenneth preceded her in death on January 3, 1992.

Mrs. Winick was a homemaker living in the area all of her life. Dorothy was also a bookkeeper for the family farm for most of those years. After the loss of her husband, she volunteered at Poudre Valley Hospital for many years Dorothy loved Stitch work, German food cooking, Bingo, Playing card games, dancing, gambling, fishing, camping and boating. But most of all she loved her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Survivors include her sons, Allan Winick Judy and Robert Winick Barbara; brothers, Danny Gesick Elaine of Milliken, Alvin Gesick Linda of Fort Collins, Richard Gesick Rita of Riverton, Wyoming, and Larry Gesick Joyce of Florida; sisters, Gladys Lutes of Greeley, and Barbara Ley Hank of Pierce, Colorado; four granddaughters, Nicole Winick Sterler, Chrystal Winick, Michelle Winick, and Megan Winick; great grand children, Peyton and Reegan Sterler.

Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, her husband, Kenneth, and her sister, Janet Black. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Those who desire may view Mrs. Winick from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524.
