Samuel Getchell was born in Salisbury, Mass. in 1687 to Samuel Getchell, Jr. and Elizabeth (Jones) Getchell.[1] He married Elizabeth Nason in Maine in 1714.[2]
Samuel Getchell died about 1758 in Berwick, Maine.
Research Notes
Seemingly conflicted wife. In 1909, Everett Lamont reported Samuel's wife was Dorcas ______;[3] they were further reported the parents of four children, (i) James Getchell; (ii) Nathaniel Getchell, born 1720-1725; (iii) Dennis Getchell, born 1723/4; died 1792; (iv) Nehemiah Getchell, born 1744, died 1818. (No such children Samuel or Jane.)
