Biography
Heinerich was born in 1835 in Bonfeld. He was the son of farmer Georg Peter Göz and Katharina Göz, née Kreß.[1]
His family converted from being lutheran to baptists in 1850. The whole family moved in Mar 1859 to North America. Heinerich already went to America in 1854. [2]
He came to Peoria, Illinois in 1854 along with his future wife's family. Henry became a farmer and married Hannah Wenger on 9 Feb 1858 in Woodford County, Illinois. Together he and Hannah had eleven children: Louis, Peter, Sophia, George, Phillip, Henry, Lizzie, Daniel, Katherine, William and Emma. The family moved to Greenwood County, Kansas by 1880 and lived there about five years before moving back to Illinois. Sometime after the 1910 census, he and his wife moved to Monte Vista, Colorado, and spent their remaining years there with their son, Peter. He died in 1914 and was returned to Illinois and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, Tremont, Tazewell, Illinois along with his wife Hannah who died in Colorado shortly after moving there.
