Biography

Dorothy June Ghuste was born April 2, 1926 and is the daughter of Ernest William 'Dutch' Ghuste, Sr and Ada Bell Reed. Dorothy grew up in Riverside, West Virginia^[1] and Cass, West Virginia^[2] along with fifteen siblings; Paul D Ghuste, Elizabeth Viola Ghuste, Margaret Delores Ghuste, Ernest William Ghuste, Jr, Juanita Catherine 'Tuffy' Ghuste, Freda Irene Ghuste, Beatrice Alma Ghuste, Loretta Louise Ghuste, Edward August Ghuste, Alfred Charles Ghuste, Herman T Ghuste, Charles William 'Chuck' Ghuste, Edna Rebecca Ghuste, Howard Wayne Ghuste and Mary Eloise Ghuste.

Dorothy married Claude William Lyons, Sr about 1945 and they made their home in Montgomery, Alabama until his death December 22, 1958. Together they raised three children; Claude William Lyons, Jr,^[3][4][5] Timmy Lee Lyons^[6] and Dorothy June 'Sissy' Lyons.

Dorothy married Clifton D McDonald about 1959 and they made their home in Prattville, Alabama until his death November 6, 1988. She died June 26, 1996^[7] and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Prattville, Alabama.^[8]

• Nieman Clan History compiled by Helen Marie (Newcomer) Maust. Aunt Helen attended most all the Nieman Family Reunions and the Frankhouser Family Reunions. She gathered information from family members who attended the Reunions over the years sharing information about family lore and updated information about each branch. Around 1980 she put information together by typewriter and created a very large document that included all of the information about the Nieman and Frankhouser clans. Both branches intertwined in various ways and trace back to the common ancestors of John Blosser who emigrated from Switzerland and was of German origin. In the following years, she provided updates after the reunions were over and she could add the new information gathered at the reunions to the document. That document has been scanned as a PDF file.
