Biography

Leonardo was born in 1866, son of Giuseppe Giambalvo and Rosa Catalano ^[1]. In 1892 at age 25 he married 19-year-old Vincenza Viviano ^[2]; they had at least 4 children.

Per his marriage record, Leonardo belonged to the middle class. He was named for his paternal grandfather, Leonardo Giambalvo.
