Thomas, born 24 April 1642 in Sandwich, Kent, England, was the son of Robert Gibbes and Mary Coventry. He moved to Barbados with his parents around 1648.[1]
Thomas was in the Province of Carolina by 19 February 1680/1 when he was granted a town lot in Charles Town.[2]
He wrote his Will in 1689 in Carolina, mentioning his wife Elizabeth, daughters Rebecca Golding and Elizabeth Paty, grandson Edward Paty, brother Robert Gibbes, and "cousins" Mary Gibbes and Robert Gibbes (children of his brother Robert Gibbes).[3]

Is it reasonable to add his daughter Rebecca to this profile? She is mentioned in his will and appears to have married Ephraim Golding in Barbados. Find-a-grave has her listed as such.
