On 4 March 1930 Joan (23) married Reginald Harvey Spiller (26) at St Barnabas church, Kensington, London. Reginald, bachelor, is an "Analytical Chemist" and was resident at Norton Hall, Norton-on-Tees, Durham. His father is confirmed as a stockbroker. Joan, spinster, was a resident at 12 St Mary Abbot's Terrace, Kensington. Her father was noted to be Andrew Owen Gibbon, electrical engineer.
In 1936 Reginald and Joan divorced. [1]
