Susan (Gibbons) Poteet settled in the Republic of Texas before February 19, 1846.
Susan Epps Gibbons[1] was born on October 22, 1812, in Hawkins County, Tennessee to Epps Gibbons and Nancy Calvert Armstrong. She married Thomas R. H. Poteet in 1832. She died on April 12, 1882, in Lamar County, Texas,[2] at the age of 69, and was buried in Biardstown, Texas.[3]
