Sarah (Gibbons) Flower was born in Somerset, England.
Sarah was born in 1805 and baptised at Nunney, Somerset on 10 Nrovember 1805 [1] She was the seventh of nine children of Henry Gibbons and [[Hutton-2499|Sarah (Hutton) Gibbons.
Some time before 1833 Sarah moved to Bristol, Gloucestershire where she married Henry Flower (1789-1852), a miller, on 19 June 1833 at St James Church. [2]. The witnesses, James Hall and Elizabeth Davey, are witnesses to numerous marriages at that church. There were two daughters from the marriage, neither of whom married: -

At the 1841 Sarah and Henry are living a Radford Mill, Timsbury, Somerset. Henry's mother Martha (78) is living with them. There is another miller and 2 male servants living with them. [3] Sarah and Henry are still there in 1851 this time living with their daughters, a miller and 1 male servant. [4]
Henry died in 1852, possibly at Radford, and was buried at Timsbury on 29 November 1852. [5]
No 1861 census record has been found for Sarah but Ellen is staying with relatives and Ellen is working as a dairy maid. At the 1871 census Sarah is housekeeper for a farmer at Keynsham, Somerset [6]
At the 1881 census Sarah and her daughters are living at 2 Summerhay Place, Widcombe, Bath [7] were she died on 6 July 1886 aged 80. [8] Sarah was buried at Timsbury on 10 July 1886. [9] Probate on the estate of £323 was granted to her daughters at Bristol on 21 July 1886. [10]
