Biography

Mary "Polly" Gibbs was born at Sandwich, Massachusetts, at the end of August, 1779, a daughter of Thomas and Abigail (Ellis) Gibbs; she married Nathaniel Barrows at Middleborough in 1801. Widowed in 1858, she survived Nathaniel by a dozen years, dying at Middleborough in September of 1870.
