Martha Louise was born 1846 at Enfield which is now known as North Richmond she was the daughter of Henry Gibbs and Mary Quigley. Martha died 1905 at Howe's Valley and buried at Noisy Point private grave yard she was just shy of 59th birthday. In 1870 she married James Robert MERRICK. Martha had one son before she married James and they went on to have 12 more children with the first born to the couple being triplets in 1871, this would have been a natural occurrence and birth and also very dangerous in 1871 especially in the country without much medical help at hand. James’ sister Caroline Susannah was probably at the births as she was the areas mid wife.
