Arlis (22) married Margaret Louise Williams (23) (born on July 23, 1932 in Buffalo Valley, Putnam, Tennessee; daughter of Charles Ishmul Williams and Emma Sue (Christian) Whitehead) on October 22, 1955 in Trousdale, Tennessee.^[2]

Arlis died on April 8, 2012 in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee, aged 78. He is commemorated at Smith County Memorial Gardens, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee.^{[3] [4]}
