Biography

Mary Gibbs was born in 1808 at Aston Magna, Worcestershire, England. She was baptised on 6 November 1808 at Blockley, Worcestershire. She was the daughter of John and Susanna Gibbs.^[1]

Details of Mary's life are not known but at some point she emigrated to the United States and lived with some of her siblings who had also emigrated.

In the 1870 US census, Mary Gibbs was age 62 living at Sheridan, Ottawa, Kansas with her brother John Gibbs (60) and his wife Annie Gibbs (45).^[2]

In the 1880 US census, Mary Gibbs was age 70 living at Meredith, Cloud, Kansas with her sister Bettsey Savage (65) and nephew James Savage (22).^[3]

Mary presumably died after 1880 in Kansas but no record has been found.
