Clarissa was born in 1813. She was the daughter of Calvin Gibbs and Deborah W Shaw and was listed as one of the minor children left in the care of Avery Jones in her father's 1827 probate records. She married Austin Jones in 1829 and they had 11 known children. She passed away in 1893 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton, Michigan.
