Biography
Joseph was born after his siblings fathers' died (John Gibson 1837-1875). As his mother Jane remarried Thomas Norton, who was lodging with Jane on the 1881 census, it must be assumed that Joseph is the child of Thomas Norton & not a Gibson. Probably taking on his mothers married name at registration of birth.
