There is an interesting account of how in 1716 the Jacobites attacked Auchterarder and an Alexander Gibson, who's house and shop was burned by the Jacobites. Goods were stolen and the building set on fire. Alexander was beaten and robbed. His wife fainted and a child of theirs was thrown into the snow but rescued by one of the Jacobites. This story could refer to this Alexander's father.[1]
Married Catherine or Katherine Cunningham 22 Dec 1727 in Auchterarder, Perth, Scotland[2]
