Jannet is the first daughter mentioned in her father's will. Her birthdate is a guess. Since she is still at home, she is not married, and most likely under the age of 21.
This following remark will be true for all of William and Margaret Gibson's children. The birth dates for the children in Sarah D. Gibson's book, were guesses. As she says in her preface, " . . . and In the absence of accurate dates of birth cannot definitely fix where they belong. The dates given in the foregoing are approximate, hardly two years out of the way."
Sarah D. Gibson did not have William Gibson's Will that was written in December 1770, otherwise she would have known that William's wife, Margaret, was pregnant. That child, would have been born in 1771, but Sarah D. Gibson assigned a birth date of 1761. Working back, each child is separated by two years.
