Biography

Viola was born 24 November 1882, the daughterof William Gibson and Nellie Phinney. She married Frederick Waldron Wood (b. c. 1881 in Hyde Park) in Hyde Park on 3 November 1902. He was a machinist, the son of William Wood and Margaret (Dagnell). Viola and Frederick had these children:

Bertha Ellen Wood b. Hyde Park, Massachusetts 8/12/1904 d. Boston 192 buried Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park

Frederick D. Wood b. 5 Montello Ext., Brockton, Massachusetts 10/18/1908 [d. unmarried c. 1960?]

Mabel Dagnall Wood b. Brockton, Massachusets 2/27/1915 d. Naples, Florida 10/10/1994 buried Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California m. in Brockton 1st Joseph Howard Pickett [divorced] and then m. in Los Angeles 9/28/1957 2nd Peter William Schalaba. Mabel d. in Naples, Florida 3/21/1995 and is buried Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier California. She and Peter had one daughter, Karyn L. Schalaba b. Los Angeles 1/16/1959 m. Los Angeles 7/29/1978, Patrick Lane Hanrahan

Hyde Park. Born Massachusetts 4/19/1882, according to information from his WWI draft registration card (1918), which gives him as age 36, residing on Everett Ave., Norfolk, MA. Next of kin given as his wife Viola M. Wood and his occupation as a Freight Messenger for the Bay State Street Railway Company.
