J. D. Gibson, Wellington garage owner, died unexpectedly at his home Monday, Jan. 21, 1963 about 9:45 a.m. following a heart attack. He had suffered another attack about 10 days earlier. Mr. Gibson was 52 years of age and had lived here for approximately 40 years. Mr. Gibson was born October 5, 1910 at Texarkana. He was married March 23, 1929 at Dodson to Miss Nellie Wisdom. Associated with the garage business here through his adult life, Mr. Gibson had operated his own shop for a number of years, during which he gained the respect and esteem of both his business associates and the public in general.

Surviving Mr. Gibson are his widow, of the home; four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Jack Needham, Mrs. Bill Black, Mrs. Donald White, Mrs. Larry Gollihugh and Charles Gibson of Wellington; and John D. Gibson of Roswell, N.M. Other survivors are a brother and sister: Arthur Gibson of Detroit, Mich.; and Mrs. Lola Young of Paris. There are 13 grandchildren.
