Biography

Caroline was born in Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts on 9 June 1845. She was the daughter of Arrington Gibson and Sarah (Sally) Brown. ^[1]

On 3 Dec 1877, Caroline, 31 years old, married Joseph Augustine Tufts, 42, at Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. He was the son of Nathan H. and Elizs Tufts, and worked as a paymaster for the B.C.F. and N.B.R.R. (Boston, Clinton, Fitchburg and New Bedford Railroad). Both were born in Fitchburg. The ceremony was performed by James T. Hewes, a clergyman of Fitchburg.^[2]

Carolyn B. Gibson Tufts, the widow of Joseph A. Tufts, died on 11 Oct 1928 at Mount Vernon, New York.^[5] (Her death apparently was not recorded in Massachusetts.)^[6] She was survived by her son Nathan A. Tufts of Mt. Vernon, New York, a brother Charles Gibson of California, and two sisters, Mrs. Adelaide Chase of Bermuda, and Mrs. Cherry Taylor of Cambridge.^[5] She is buried at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg, Worcester, Massachusetts: Plot: Lot 530: Linden Path.^[7]
