Lord Thomas Gibson 1469-1515 Born at Goldingstones, County Fife, Scotland, he was the second son of Andrew and chartered First Baron by King James IV.

  • Married Lady Elizabeth Erskine 1471-1551 He was a chartered Free Baron by King James IV and appointed Clerk of Session of the Parliament of Scotland.

* George 1491 - 1538 George was chartered Second Baron and Clerk of Session of the Parliament of Scotland after the death of his father. (ref.)

* William 1495 - 7 July,1542 Lord William was Vicar of Garvock, Rector of Inverarity, Dean of Restalrig, Lord of Session & the Scottish Ambassador to the Pope in Rome.

* Andrew 1498 - 1567 Andrew, married in 1517, raised two sons and at least two daughters.

* Thomas 1503 - 1562 Thomas, married in 1521, raised three sons and three daughters.

* and at least two daughters Unfortunately, very little is recorded of the female side of our early Gibson ancestors. [This branch descends from the Royal Houses of York and Stuart.]

I have exchanged many emails with Thomas K. Gibson. Some of his information is not accurate. He had borrowed Gibsons from different places and incorporated them into his tree. He claims "almost every living Gibson in the world is descended from Lord Thomas Gibson of Goldingstones". He needs to have his Y DNA tested. -Gary T. Gibson
