Mrs. Mortimer Smathers

Mrs. Laura Belle Smathers, wife f Mortimer Smathers, died at her home at Wintersville on Wednesday at 1 p.m. She was born at Bentleyville, Pa., October 15, 1865, the daughter of James and Isabella Gibson. She had resided in this community for 35 years, the last two years at Winterville. She is survived by her husband and two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Crouch of Ellsworth, Pa., and Mrs. Anna Crouch of Bentleyville, Pa., one brother William Gibson of Bentleyville. Mrs. Smathers was held in high respect by many friends. Her body is at the Shannon Funeral home.
