Biography

Dr. Jay Hiram Gibson was born on 7 Aug 1888 in Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States, son of Stephen T. Gibson (1858–1947) and Jane Elizabeth (Langham) Gibson (1868–1953).

Jay had a brother, Gordon Thomas Gibson (1907–1976).

Jay died on 18 Jul 1966 in Gowanda, Erie, New York, United States, aged 77.[1] He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Jay married Christina (Dixon) Gibson (born on 8 Sep 1894 in Winburne, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania) in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

Obituary

Dr. Jay H. Gibson, a former resident of Indiana for many years, died Monday, July 18, 1966, in Gowanda, New York, where he had been living for the past few years. He was a son of Stephen and Lyda Jane Langham Gibson and the husband of the former Christina Dixon who died in April, 1961. Dr. Gibson is survived by: a son Harold Gibson of Gowanda; a brother Gordon T. Gibson of Philipsburg; a sister, Mrs. Elder (Essie) Kerr, Johnstown; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Joan Gibson Hines is deceased. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.[2]
