According to the 1870 US Census, Laura was born in September 1869 (it states that she was 8 months old on 9 June 1870) and was living in the household of her maternal grandfather in Scott County, Illinois, after her father's death. Little else is known of her, and the only evidence of her existence as a member of this family (so far) is in this census, and in Ancestry family trees.
