Walter Herman Giem was born on 24 May 1886[1] in Plainview, Minnesota.[1] He was the son of Samuel Giem, born in Minnesota, and Mary "Sents", born in Germany.[1]
Maude V. Rice and Walter Giem were married on 14 Jul 1909 Winona, Minnesota.[2] Based on census and other records, they had at least the following children:
In 1920, Walter and Maude lived in La Crosse, La Crosse, Wisconsin, with two children. Walter was a commerical salesman in stock (--).[8]
Walter died on 3 March 1940 at Cedar Rapids, Linn, Iowa, where he had lived for 20 years.[1] At the time of his death, he was married to Maude V. Giem, who was the informant on his Death Certificate. He was to be buried at the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.[1]
