Services for Andrew L. Giffen, 85, will be conducted at 1:30 p. m. Friday at the McAllister-Julian-Poorman funeral home, 304 North 5th street by the Rev. H. G. Whitfield, pastor of First Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
Mr. Giffen was a former Rockford resident most of his life until moving to California 10 months ago. He died Saturday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles B. Mershon, Santa Monica, Cal., following a brief illness. While in Rockford he was a member of Star in the East Masonic lodge, No. 166, and First Presbyterian church.[4]
