Kenneth Giffin was born in 1880, the son of Thomas Giffin and Athalia Cooney. He married Jessie Kempton in 1916 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia[1] and they had three children:
- Ardis Carolyn Giffin, born 5-18-1918 in Louis Head, Nova Scotia
- Barbara Giffin, born 10-12-1924 in Somerville, Mass.
- Phyliss Giffin, born 12-12-1928 in Somerville, Mass[2] Kenneth passed away in 1956.[3]

He worked as a carpenter in Arlington. In 1948 he sailed with M.Edward Burtt Burtt-134 aboard the Gulf Oil Tanker "No-Nox, under the command of Captain Fred M. ColeCole-9820. He served as seaman, and later worked in the galley. He married "Jessie Kempton" in Liverpool, Queens County, Nova Scotia. She was born November 26, 1888, died in Arlington, Massachusetts, November 28, 1962, the daughter of Edward and Martha (Davis) Kempton, a descendant of Richard and Fear (Curtis) Kempton.
