He was born about 1618 being baptised at Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex on 23 Nov 1618. He is the son of James Giffin. [1]
His father passed away in 1631 leaving a will as of "James Giffyn of Stansted Mountfitchet, weaver". He bequeathed Zachary two acres of land in Bishops Stortford. [2]
Also in 1631 he received a bequest in the will of his uncle, William Giffin, a tailor of Stansted Mountfitchet, receiving £10 as Zachery son of my brother James Giffin. He laso received land in Farnham, Essex. [3]
His mother Susan passed away in 1639, leaving a will written 14th July 1632 and proved 24 May 1639. [4] She left Zachary various household goods and a croft of land.
However he also died in 1639, predeceasing his mother, being buried at Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex on 7 May 1639. [5]

Will of James Giffyn of Stansted Mountfitchet, weaver
To the poor people of Stansted twenty shillings.
To Susan my well beloved wife in consideration of the thirds or dower all the lands and tenements that I now have. All my piece of land in Stortford, Hertfordshire of six acres, in the tenure of widow Perry of Fanham which I purchased of Robert Day.
After her decease same piece of land to my son Zachary Giffyn.
All my freehold land in Birchanger to my eldest son Benjamin Giffyn paying a yearly annuity of sixteen shillings to my wife Susan.
To my son Benjamin my half hooded bedstead in the parlour with the featherbed, covering bolster and a pair of sheets.
My other two sons James and John shall have my copyhold land in the parish of Little Halligbury paying an annuity to my wife of £3.
To my daughter Mary Giffyn my freehold tenement in Stansted called Wellpigstyle purchased of Thomas Stockbridge,
To my wife Susan the freehold tenement in Stansted I purchased of William Mead of Ugley and now in the tenure of Jeremy Harwood and Thomas Wybrowe.
After the decease of my wife the same tenement at Stansted to my daughter Susan, and she to pay unto my daughter Sara £8 and to my daughter Elizabeth forty shillings.
To my daughter Sara my little tenement in Stortford in North street there wherein George Warner now dwells.
To my daughter Susan my little tenement adjoining in Stortford wherein Thomas Isaac now dwells.
To Zachary Giffyn my son those two pieces of land of two acres in Stortford called Common downe.
All my looms and furniture to my sons Zachary, James and Benjamin.
To James my son £7
To John my son forty shillings.

Whereas Henry Grave of Much Hallingbury and his brother Ralph Grave stand bond in two obligations to me for £10 on 7th Nov 1633 at the now dwelling house of Thomas Barnard the elder. I devise the benefit of these obligations to my three daughters Susan, Sara and Mary.

To all the rest of my brother Samuel's daughters I give 13 shillings 4 pence each.
To all of my brother John's children 13 shillings 4 pence each.
To my sister Annis Stonnard thirty shillings.

To Gabriel Stonnard her son twenty shillings and to his children four shillings apiece
To Annis Stonnard daughter of my sister Annis Stonnard twenty shillings and to her children four shillings apiece.
To Henry and Ralph Wright son of my sister Barbara ten shillings each.
To George Wright son of my sister Barbara twenty shillings.
To Frances Wright daughter of my sister Barbara five shillings.
