Spencer Harrington Giffin was born in 1829, the son of Deacon Simon and Harriet Chadsey Giffin of Isaac's Harbour, NS[1][2]
On December 22, 1858, he married Susan Morine (January 15, 1833-1919), daughter of Capt. Asa Morine and Dorcas Cohoon, and sister of Olivia Morine Giffin, and had children[3]including:
Alfred Chipman, born 29 November,1858, who married Annie Henderson Jan 6, 1861-1949[4], and had children including Amy, born August 2, 1886 [5] and died in 1950[6]
Asa Morine 1861-1880 (drowned)
Ida Blanche, born 1862, who married Atherton Cohoon[7]
Minnie Weston 1864 - 1912, married CF Andrews[8][9]
Stephen Morine, born 14 December 1863, who married Katie Dillon (born May 20, 1870[10] and had children[11][12][13], and died in 1939 [14]
