Biography
- Mary Elizabeth Giffin was, born September 16, 1859, the daughter of Joseph Dimock and Henrietta Ann (Giffin) Giffin of Isaac's Harbour[1]
- On May 15, 1882, she married Benjamin Hines, a Tinsmith born May 28 1858, the son of Elisha and Jane Hines of Country Harbour, Nova Scotia[2], and had children[3], including:
- Helena Jean, born June 27, 1896[4], who married William McLean in 1922[5]
- Robert Gordon, born July 26, 1887, who married Lillian McConnel in 1922[6]
- Douglas, born September 1, 1889[7], whose wife was named Susannah Hines and son William when he died in 1955[8]
- Rufus Eugene, born September 1, 1893, who married Mabel McMillan in 1922[9]
- Elisha Dimock, born 1900[10], who married Susan Nickerson in 1926[11]
