Biography

Peleg was a Friend (Quaker)

This Peleg Gifford was the son of Jonathan and Lydia Gifford.[1] Peleg married Abigail Shepherd, daughter of Daniel and Mary Shepherd, on 27d 2m 1743 [27 April 1743] in Dartmouth.[1] They were the parents of eleven known children.[citation needed]

NOTE: This Peleg Gifford is sometimes confused with the Peleg Gifford, (son of Jermiah Gifford and Mary Wright), who married Alice/Alyce Cornell
