Biography
Robert was born in 1908. He was the son of Frank Gifford and Nellie Stetson. The family moved to Newark, Del. in May 1928. Shortly after Robert contracted polio. He was disabled and never married. He had no children. During World War II when labor was scarce an employer in Newark, Del. modified equipment so the Robert could work. In retirement he moved to the "Alliance" nursing home in Carlisle, PA. He passed away there on 21 June 1989. He is buried in the Letort Cemetery, Carlisle.
