Levi Gifford was born in 1764. He was the son of Peleg Gifford andAbigail Shepherd of Barnstable, Massachussetts Bay. Levi Gifford was married to Margaret Wells in 1789.[1] Although both had been born Quakers and later came back to the Quaker Community, they were married at the court house and not in the church:

Levi Gifford was enumerated in the first Census of the United States in 1790.[2]
Levi Gifford and his family migrated to the Lick Creek Quaker settlement in Orange County, Indiana in 1818.[3][4]
Levi passed away between 5 August 1832, when he wrote his will, and 15 September 1832, when the will was proven.[5]
