Gustave and Margaretha were known as Gus and Mary. They married in the Lutheran Church in Plainland and witnesses to their marriage were Anne Gigler and Gottfried Schafferius.
Gus and Mary moved to Manyung near Murgon in 1917 and worked on a dairy farm. They lived there until about 1929 when they moved to Reedy Creek near Kingaroy. They worked at Share Farming for a few years but went back to Manyung.
Gus, Len and Cyril worked in the timber industries at Miva. It was during this time that Mary died. She is buried in the Maryborough Cemetery.
In latter years Gus, Len and Cyril worked at Manumbar Mill. Gus worked in the sawmill until he was 65. He then retired to Hervey Bay and lived there until he died. He is buried next to Mary. [1] [2] [3]
