DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
What I have are index records on the non-subscriber side of Ancestry.com, so important details are missing, but. . .Sarah Baldwin does have records - including a marriage record to John Gilbert - in:
the US Quaker Meeting (Records 1681-1935 indexed by Ancestry.com), and
(Bucks) Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Church and Town Records, 1669-2013; (some other "matches"=?)
however, the Sarah Baldwin of interest (ca. 1734-1780) has parents suggested as being John Baldwin (ca. 1697-1771) and Sarah Gilbert (of all surnames) ca. 1700-1755. I have not searched for that pair, yet. I might have some leads on them, too; and, have not scoured FamilySearch for either generation of Sarah. It's probably worth a look, as Baldwins intersect with a lot of families. Let me know if you need help with it.
