DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Lawrence by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Please change the status indicator of Lawrence's relationship to his father to "confident" until a proper DNA source citation has been added to document a paternal "confirmed with DNA" paternal relationship.
WikiTree's DNA Confirmation Citation Maker app is highly recommended for creating and/or validating DNA confirmation source citations. It produces great citations, is easy to use (copy/paste) and there are how-to videos linked from that page.
I do not propose to make a change. I personally tested DNA 67 markers. Lawrence is my father. It is ridiculous to believe he is not the son of his father. I am 80 years old, I was physically present with my father and grandfather for much of their life.
William, parentage is not the issue, it is the incomplete paternal DNA confirmation citation that is the problem. WikiTree has certain requirements for a proper citation, which are elaborated in the Help for DNA Confirmation.
Thank you for adding a DNA confirmation statement. Unfortunately it does not provide sufficient information to mark his paternal relationship 'confirmed with DNA'. You have entered information about only one yDNA test, but it takes at least two matching DNA tests to confirm any relationships. Please read these instructions: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Y-Chromosome_DNA_Confirmation
Please change Henry's relationship to his father to 'confident'. Please do not change it back to 'confirmed with DNA' until you have added a statement that provides information about the two matching tests and the Most Recent Common Ancestor of the two test takers.
Please let me know if you don't understand, or if I can help. Thanks!

Thank you,

Give the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker app a try. I'm also 80 and I find it very helpful.
