Biography

Arthur Roy Gilbertson, son of William A. Gilbert and Lodema Alice Robinson, was born in Village Township, Van Buren County, Iowa, United States, 27 Feb 1884.^[2] He was the sixth of his parents' seven children, the others being his five elder siblings, Albert, born in 1873,^[3] and Dora, born in 1875,^[4] Bertha, born in 1877,^[5] and Augustus, born in 1880 (and who died before Arthur was born),^[6] and Roscoe, born in 1882,^[7] and his younger brother, Guy, born in 1888.^[8]

In 1885, Arthur lived with his parents and siblings, Albert, Dora, Bertha and Roscoe, in Village Township.^[9] Arthur's widowed maternal grandmother resided immediately next door.^[10]

Arthur died 12 Sep 1947 and is buried in Fir Lawn Cemetery in Hillsboro, Oregon.^[11]
