Hi Veronica,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hope to find a Skeels male who would contact someone about a new DNA test that in time could link John Skell to his father John Skeelle and Mother Agnis Bruce/Brise of England, as questioned by past Genealogists.

Hi Veronica.... always good to meet a new relative. Hope you enjoy WikiTree, it's a great site.

Hello Veronika!

RE "Direct descendant of Bela III King of Hungary Arpadhazi-4 , my 27th great-grandfather" - you may or may not know about the recent DNA research results of King Bela III. achieved by the Minister Kasler led team of the Hungarian Root Research Institute working together with many international geneologists and archeogenetics. These results are important concerning the male line of the Turul dynasty - aka the House of Arpad. https://mki.gov.hu/hu

RE DNA testing from 23andme.com shows that I have inherited 0.6% DNA from the Iberian peninsula area, evidence of this small amount of ancestry during the 12th-13th centuries. - With regard to this DNA testing I suppose the mediatized Croy Solre as well as the Crouy Chanel families may have significant Arpadian ancestry results in their males - in case they risk the tests.

As a historian I wish I had - what I do not have with my German ancestry living in Hungary - relational reasons for affecting them to do so. :)

Antal Leisen

PS: If you have any sources (documents) which would help detail this period history - please let me know.

posted by Antal Leisen
Thanks for the comment! I read somewhere that the Crouy-Chanel family is thought to be descended from Bela III’s brother, Geza. I do have a distant relationship there- I’m Geza’s 27th great-grand niece. I can’t prove a definitive Crouy-Chanel link, though! Maybe someday.

Veronika, WOW, this awesome what you have found!!! Love it. I was born in Hungary but now way found records way back to Arpad but you know we all are related but can't prove it.

Hi Veronica

Thank you for signing the Honor Code and adding your DNA Test information to your profile on WikiTree. Your information will be propagated to the profiles of your parents and your ancestors within about 24 hours of being added. It will also propagate to the profiles of the descendants of your ancestors, so they may see your information under the heading "DNA Connections" just as you can see theirs.

Getting started with DNA outlines how to proceed to use your DNA test information on WikiTree and DNA is a link to a collection of links about WikiTree's many features involving DNA.

The DNA Connections list on your profile will provide a visual way for you to find potential relatives on WikiTree who have also added their DNA test information. Using DNA tools at sites like GEDMatch.com, if you find a relative that matches your DNA sufficiently and you have genealogical sources for the intermediate relationships, you can mark the specific parental relationships back to the most recent ancestor that you both share as "confirmed with DNA." For details, guidance, and examples of how to properly document DNA confirmations, see DNA confirmation.

To find other potential relatives, continue adding sourced profiles for other lines until you can connect on all branches. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Have fun!
