William Henry Gilbert was born in 1888 to Hiram J Gilbert and Elizabeth Gilbert. ^[1]

He married Emily Ethel Toms in 1911. ^[2]

Together they became the parents of Myrtle (Gilbert) French, Esma Magdalen (Gilbert) Mason, Adelwyn Silvester Gilbert, and Darcy Alphonsus Gilbert.

He passed away on 23 April 1957 in New South Wales, Australia and was buried at Bulahdelah General Cemetery in Bulahdelah, New South Wales.
