Biography

This profile is part of the Gilbert Name Study.

Avarilla Gilbert was born about 1739 in Baltimore Co., Maryland, she died 4 April 1826 at age 87 years. She married in Bedford Co., Virginia, about 1760, Butterworth, Isaac (b.11 Dec 1734 in Baltimore Co., Maryland)[1]

Isaac Butterworth III died in 1766, only six years after their marriage, in Campbell Co., Virginia, at age 32, leaving his young wife and four children, all under age four, including an infant son, Benjamin. Benjamin Butterworth Sr (1766-1833)

Avarilla, married Isaac Reynolds in about 1773, and had several children by this marriage, including Nancy Reynolds Terrell. Most of her children migrated to Ohio, as she did, in about 1810/12, where she died
