I connected William M. Elswick (my ancestor) as son of Bradley and Katherine. This fits with the "Establish children via Census Records" section in the profile. Can I ask how you established the identity of all of those names in the 1810-1840 Census records? Thanks.
Mel - thank you for your concern about John Gilbert - We were given a photograph and "history" of John Bige Gilbert which I attached to his file today.
We also have done some research in the John J. Dickey diary that has mixed dates but general for that time.
If all the reports are true and the headstone is accurate, this man lived to be a VERY ripe age.
Mel - you are a superb cheerleader and wonderful co-Captain.
Thank you SO MUCH for your encouraging words throughout the Clean-a-Thon & your own efforts (1,555!!!). You made it fun & successful for Team Virginia. We wouldn't have made it to #6 without you - much less held on to that position in the final hours! So happy that you, Mindy, Andrea, & Sandy all made the "1000+ Club" :D
