Biography

Mary was born in Louisiana about 1829, last child of Jonas Gilbert and Arminta Ann (Waters) Gilbert. She married Benjamin Brown in Grimes, Texas, and they had thirteen children as they migrated north through the plains, west to Utah, and finally settling in the San Luis Obispo area of California. She died in 1916.

Research Notes

She is the daughter <5 in the 1830 census with her parents and siblings in Baton Rouge [1]. They have not been found in 1840.
