DIED:-- John Gilbert, an old highly respected citizen died at his home last Saturday, April 11, 1896 at 2:30 p. m. of typhoid fever.

Mr. Gilbert has for many months past suffered much from serious attacks of fever and but a few months ago it was thought that he could not live. He recovered however, sufficient to be able to get around. The last spell of sickness as of about three weeks duration when he passed away.

The funeral was held at the Moon School house on Tuesday last at 10 o’clock a. m. and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery on the Moon homestead where several others of his relatives who had gone before have been buried. The funeral services were conducted by the members of the G. A. R. Post and the ladies of the Circle. Rev. Miller preached the funeral sermon.
